KARACHI: Seven suspects, including an extortionist, were arrested during a search operation conducted late the other day in Mobina Town, police sources revealed.
Suspect Haq Nawaz is alleged to have been an accomplice in a number of cases of extortion, security officials stated.
According to police reports, suspects Jahangir and Yasir have been alleged of violating Temporary Residents Act, while arrestees Abdul Qadir, Arif, Arshad, and Abid were wanted for various street crimes.
Security authorities mentioned that cases have been registered against the respective suspects.
In another instance, three other suspects were arrested during a search operation carried out late the other day in Lyari’s Baghdadi area. They have been identified as Gordan, Anwar, and Sajjad, police explained.
Weapons and contraband were also recovered from the detainees, who were allegedly involved in street crimes and drug-selling activities.
In addition, police and law enforcement agencies conducted search operations in various areas of Lahore on Wednesday night.
18 suspects were taken into custody from Hanjarwal area, while seven others were arrested in Kahna area, police informed.
