ISLAMABAD: Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad has decided to constitute a four-member committee to investigate the malpractices of Earth Sciences Chairperson Dr Moona Liza at the University.
The decision was made in the 170th syndicate meeting of the university held here under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Dr Javed Ashraf.
According to an official of the university, it was decided in a meeting on Wednesday that Barrister Zafar Ullah would be head of the committee while Major (Retd) Tahir Iqbal, Dr Tassawar Hayat and Dr Waqar Shah would be its members. The committee would also include one member from the Ministry of Federal Education.
This decision follows an application filed by the faculty members of the Earth Science Department of the University against Professor Moona Liza, accusing her of negligence in the management and appointment of illegal persons in the varsity.
In the meeting, the matter of a senior faculty member of International Relations was also discussed who left the country without obtaining a Non-Objection Certificate from the varsity.
The committee also upheld its previous decision to send Registrar Dr Shafiq ur Rehman, Caretaker Registrar Sabir Shah and Controller Exams Sardar Babar Khan on forced leave.
