MULTAN: The Punjab government has allocated Rs213 billion in the provincial budget for several development projects in South Punjab.
According to the budget plan, Rs1 billion will be utilised for setting up 100 mobile health units in the far off areas. Moreover, a substantial amount has been allocated for setting up eight Danish schools in District Dera Ghazi Khan and Safe City Projects in Multan and Bahawalpur. In the provincial budget, the government has planned to set up four separate Danish schools for girls and boys in Taunsa.For this purpose, the provincial government has allocated Rs3 billion.
Additionally, Rs15 billion has been allocated collectively for the Kisaan Package. Moreover, a separate amount has been fixed for Jalalpur Irrigation, Umar Khan Kenal in sub-district Esa Khel, Saefan in Mailsi, greater Thar Canal and Daig Nalaa field protection.
In another development project, Rs50 million has been allocated for the construction of Mumtazabad Flyover in Multan and Rs800 million has been set aside for the construction of southern bypass Shujaabad and Rs130 million for the construction of Bosan Road from Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan to Adda Sahi Chawan.
Rs 100 million have been allocated for the construction of roads in various union councils while Rs 56 million has been reserved for the restoration of roads. One hundred and fifty million rupees are allocated for the construction of the road from Qasimpur Canal to Head Dumri.
