PTI’s claim over Imran’s money trail not true: PML-N media coordinator

LAHORE: Reacting over claim of PTI chairman’s lawyer that Imran Khan earned the money from cricket in Australia and England, PML-N media coordinator Muhammad Mehdi claimed that it is, in fact, the money Imran made by playing cricket for Kerry Packer in sheer betrayal of Pakistan national interest and leaving Pakistan in lurch during 1983 world cup held in England.

Purchase of controversial flat, he said, came into effect in the same year when Imran Khan denied bowling at a critical stage when the team desperately needed; as a result Pakistan cricket team lost the match in 1983 world cup.

“A complete probe is need of the hour to trace out how much money Imran Khan took in reward of sceptic refusal to bowling despite being main striker of the team,” he argues.

He said that Imran flat money did not have a clean track record but stained with match-fixing clandestine deals. His confessional statements of fixing cricket matches are widespread in his autobiography that reinforces possible clues for judiciary, investigation agencies and the general public.

Mehdi said, “PML-N leadership has always respected judiciary.”  Party leadership went through harshest accountability during nine years of dictatorship of Musharraf ear and proved innocent.  This time party leadership will come clean again, he asserted

“Conspirators are continuously hatching controversies for stoking tension between government and Judiciary. Those, who chanted slogan for across the board accountability now has been running away for their own accountability,” he opined.
