According to sources, the Punjab government has included the mega water project in 2017-18 budget and its proposal was completed during former President Musharraf’s era.

The Punjab government has allocated over Rs1 billion for the relevant project. Under the project, the water will be supplied from Jhelum River to residents to fulfil the water needs of residents for next many years to come.

However, the Punjab government has once again not considered the two projects, Mother Children Hospital and Nullah Lai Expressway project, for the budget.
