Indian army officer commits suicide

New Delhi: A 45-year-old Indian army officer, who had been suffering from depression, allegedly committed suicide at his official residence, police said.

Major Gurjeet Singh Bali, hailing from Jammu, was posted at the Remount Training School and Depot in Saharanpur in western Uttar Pradesh, Indian media reported. Bali had been undergoing treatment for depression, police said.

His body was found hanging in his room, police said, adding that it had been sent for post-mortem.
