Lahore: Pakistan women cricket team is on its way to England early Friday morning to take part in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017, which will be played from June 24 to July 23 in England and Wales.
The female athletes were transported by bus from National Cricket Academy Lahore to the airport. Six officials also accompany them.
Speaking to the media, Captain Sana Mir said that all the teams come well-prepared for the world cup. “The girls have worked really hard and we hope to achieve good results.”
We will put our best foot forward, she commented.
On clash with India, she said “we have beaten the Indian women team in T20 but will try to beat them in the world cup too.”
Pakistan plays its first match against South Africa on June 25. The team will play against England on June 27, India on July 2, Australia on July 5, New Zealand on July 8, West Indies on July 11, and Sri Lanka on July 15.
