MIC extended to 400 bedsLAHORE

Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafiq has said that the extension of Multan Institute of Cardiology is being carried out. 208 beds would be added to the hospital after which the beds in the hospital would increase to 400. The government has provided 400 million rupees for this project.

He stated this while presiding over a meeting to review the performance of teaching hospitals of Multan. Apart from the Special Secretary Specialized Healthcare Dr Sajid Chuhan, Additional Secretary Development Irfan Ali Khan and Chief Planning Officer Abdul Haq Bhatti were present in the meeting while Vice Chancellor Nishter Medical Colleges University, MS Nishter Hospital, MS MIC, MS Children Hospital Multan and MS Multan Institute of Kidney Diseases participated in the meeting through video link.

It was stated in the meeting that the medicines are being provided free of cost to the patients in Multan Institute of Cardiology and a large stock of medicines is available. Khawaja Salman Rafiq, while reviewing the performance of the Nishter Hospital, directed the Medical Superintendent to improve the working and evolve the system for the smooth working of the hospital.

The minister said that 4 operation theatres have been completed in Nishter Hospital and doctors and other staff has been posted there. Provincial secretary Sajid Chuhan expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of the hospital. The meeting was informed that there are 72 beds in the emergency ward and 40 beds in the cardiac unit.

Children Hospital Multan is working efficiently and all the required medicines are available at the hospital. The minister said that the central oxygen supply is available at the hospital and every bed has the facility of oxygen supply.
