The Indian High Commission on Friday issued visas to an ill two-and-a-half-year-old Pakistani baby boy and his parents after India’s Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj promised that they would be given visas for the boy’s treatment.

Earlier, Ken Sid, a Pakistani national, reached out to Sushma Swaraj on twitter for a medical visa for his son who has a heart complication that cannot be treated in Pakistan, according to Times of India.

“He is my son,” tweeted Sid. “He does not even know what is happening between India and Pakistan.”

Swaraj replying to the father’s tweet said, “No, this child will not suffer. Please contact Indian High Commission in Pakistan. We will give the medical visa.”

Swaraj’s reply was highly appreciated in both India and Pakistan.

“It is heartening to see humanity prevailing despite many differences,” tweeted the child’s father after Swaraj’s reply. “Thank you for your efforts. Humanity prevails! God bless everyone.”

Four-month medical visas have been issued for the boy and his parents so that the boy could easily undergo heart surgery in India.

The parents had been trying to get visas for three months without any luck.
