KARACHI: Police conducted an operation in Chakiwara area of Lyari on Wednesday. During the incident, a gang war accused opened fire at police. In retaliatory firing, the police officials killed a gang war operative.
As per police sources, the deceased was a member of Ghaffar Zikri group. Police have also recovered a TT pistol from his possession.
In another incident, Rizvia Police have claimed to have arrested an accused involved in Amjad Sabri murder case. Police sources have stated that the accused Raheel is an associate of under custody accused Asim Capri and activist of a banned outfit.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested five dacoits during an operation in Orangi Town and recovered arms and looted cash from their possession.
The police have also reported to have apprehended three accused during operation in Awami Colony while two street criminals were also rounded up. Police have also recovered arms and mobile phones from their custody.
During the police operations in Mominabad and Gulshan areas, a two gang war accused and five drug peddlers were apprehended.
