England won the toss and chose to field against Bangladesh in the opening fixture of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 at The Oval on Thursday, Samaa reported.

During the toss, English captain Eoin Morgan felt that there was something in the pitch that could help his bowlers. He has not picked Adil Rashid in today’s game and opted for Jake Ball to make it a four-man pace attack.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, have chosen for an extra batsman and left its rising star Mehedi Hasan out from the game.

England (playing XI): Jason Roy, Alex Hales, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan (captain), Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Liam Plunkett, Mark Wood and Jake Ball

Bangladesh (playing XI): Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Imrul Kayes, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan, Sabbir Rahman, Mosaddek Hossain, Mashrafe Mortaza (captain), Rubel Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman.
