KABUL: The Afghan Cricket Board (ACB) have confirmed speculations of cancellation of the two friendly Twenty20 matches against Pakistan that had been scheduled to be played between July and August, one in Kabul and one in Lahore.
No official reason has been specified by the ACB for cancellation of matches but just a few days back in a joint press conference, heads of the PCB and ACB had given spectators good news of bilateral series between the two countries but all in vain.
As part of the agreement, the PCB was also required to provide Afghanistan with venues for training and conditioning camps, and the possibility of mutual tours between the youth and senior teams.
The relationship between Afghanistan and Pakistan has been tense of late over border brawls, and cricket was seen as a means to bridge differences.
