ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and discussed issues related to national security.
During the meeting, the PM was briefed about the outcomes of anti-terrorism operation Radd-ul-Fasaad and death penalty issue of RAW agent Kulbhushan Jhadav.
The premier also appreciated the sacrifices rendered by the Pakistan Army in the war against terrorism.
Later, Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting of the National Security Committee in Islamabad.
Defence Minister Muhammad Asif, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman and National Security Advisor Lt Gen (retd) Nasser Khan Janjua and other senior officials also attended the meeting.
