Chinese national arrested in Mianwali

MIANWALI: A Chinese national was reportedly detained in Mianwali after he was alleged of being involved in suspicious activities the other day.

As per to media reports, intelligence agencies nabbed the Chinese national for his involvement in suspicious activities. The Chinese national had reached Mianwali via bus from Rawalpindi.

He was neither registered with any agency nor had he obtained an NOC. His business visa was issued from March 6, 2017 to June 5, 2017 and he had been visiting Islamabad for business purposes. He is said to belong to the Chinese Province of Fujian.

In March, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed to have arrested two Chinese nationals from Karachi after the FIA received complaints on March 10 from the branch manager of Bank alHabib, Chartered Accountant Avenue Branch, Karachi, that the Chinese nationals had attached and detached the skimming device along with a spy camera panel at the branch and captured the cards’ data that were genuinely used at the ATM.

The CCTV monitoring and examination had shown that the two suspected Chinese national could be clearly seen approaching the ATM and withdrawing the skimming device, the FIA officials stated. The FIA cybercrime team and bank staff had rushed to the ATM machine, apprehended the culprits and taken them inside the bank premises for interrogation and investigation.
