Temperature likely to soar to 40 degrees in Karachi today

ISLAMABAD: Meteorological Department Tuesday forecast that temperature may soar to 40 degrees on Celsius scale in Karachi today.

Met Office has advised Karachiites to adopt precautionary measures as the heat intensity will be higher today with humidity level expected to stay at 82 percent.

Extreme hot and dry weather conditions are likely to prevail in plain areas of the country during the next twelve hours.

However, dust-thunderstorm/rain with gusty winds is likely at a few places in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir.

Temperatures of some major cities recorded on Tuesday morning were:-

Islamabad twenty-five degree centigrade, Lahore and Peshawar twenty-six, Karachi twenty-nine, Quetta seventeen, Gilgit and Murree sixteen and Muzaffarabad twenty degree centigrade.
