LAHORE: The two government teachers who were accused of allegedly pushing a 14 year old student from the top floor of a school in Shahdara appeared before police on Tuesday and completely denied that they pushed the said student.

Teachers Rehana Kausar and Bushra Tufail of the City District Government Girls High School, Kot Shahabdin, Shahdara were charged with attempted murder under Section 324 (attempted murder) by the Shahdara police.

In their statment, the two teachers have completely denied that they had anything to do with the whole incident. They said that they did however,  warn the student of calling her parents to talk to them; something that might have triggered this reaction.

The teachers are now claiming that the girl might have jumped off the top floor only because of this fear, according to reports.

The police are still investigating the matter from all angles.

Two teachers allegedly pushed a ninth grader from the third floor of a school building in Shahdara when the girl refused to “clean the classroom on her turn”, according to reports.

The 14 year old girl Fajjar was rushed to Ghurki Hospital in Lahore with multiple fractures and broken spinal cord where she is still admitted and not completely out of danger.

School Education Department (SED) Punjab has suspended services of Chief Executive Officer of District Education Authority Lahore Ehsan Malik, Dy. DEO (secondary education) Tayyaba Butt, Headmistress Naghmana Irshad for trying to conceal the incident from the higher authorities. The two teachers allegedly responsible for the incident, namely Rehana Kauser and Bushra Tufail have also been suspended.
