Teachers suspended for pushing 9th grade student from top floor

In this March 2, 2015 photo, Klara Balogova is silhouetted against a window at a Roma settlement near Kralovsky Chlmec, Slovakia. Balogova was 18, penniless and pregnant when she rode thousands of miles from Slovakia to England to marry a man she had never met. Each year, dozens of women from the poorer corners of eastern Europe are lured to travel to western Europe for sham marriages with men who pay large sums because they want to live, work or claim benefits more easily in their chosen country and move freely within Europe. LAHORE: School Education Department (SED) Punjab has suspended services of Chief Executive Officer of District Education Authority Lahore Ehsan Malik, Dy. DEO (secondary education) Tayyaba Butt, Headmistress Naghmana Irshad and two SST namely Rehana Kauser and Bushra Tufail.

These suspensions have come after the unfortunate incident that occurred at City District Government Girls High School, Factory Area, Shahdara recently; where a 9th grade student Fajar Noor, d/o Muhammad Akbar was taken to the top floor of her school by teachers as a punishment for not performing her ‘cleaning duties’ at the school, and was later pushed down by them.

The matter was reportedly kept under wraps by the school administration instead of being reported to the higher authorities.

According to reports, the student is now out of danger but she has undergone at least three major surgeries.

An FIR has already been registered in Factory Area police station against the teachers who pushed the girl student, according to reports.

The suspension orders were issued at the directions of the chief minister.
