Protest against electricity goes haywire in Malakand

Malakand: Things went out of hand as protestors barged into a Wapda office in Dargai, Malakand.

The protestors reportedly broke the office furniture and set the computers on fire.

There was a resulting stampede injuring four people including the Asst. Commissioner, Dargai.

Levies officials reached the spot to control the situation, but Army had to be called in eventually.

It was also reported that the protesters burnt records stored in the office and broke windows of officials’ cars.

A jirga has reportedly been formed to discuss the main issues regarding electricity.
