PM issues notice to power utilities not to cut electricity supply during iftar, sehr

ISLAMABAD: The prime minister has issued a notice to power utilities to be extra careful about electricity supplies during iftar and sehr.

He gave these directions at a special meeting on Monday. Protests are happening all over the country regarding extensive power outages during Ramzan.

One person was killed during firing in one of such protests in Dargai area of Malakand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, today while in Peshawar protesters blocked Ring Road for hours to demonstrate against long hours of power cut.

On the other hand, in Karachi, a hearing was held in the Sindh High Court where K-Electric officials were asked what measures they have taken to reduce the duration of outages that has disrupted daily life of citizens.
