Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presided over a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order to review the security arrangements for the protection of life and property of the citizens of Punjab, during Ramzan.
Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that the security arrangements should be further improved during Ramzan to ensure peace and tranquility in the province. He said that the police and law enforcement agencies should perform their duties efficiently and stay alert during the month. He said that the security arrangement for mosques, imambargahs, churches and other worship places should be beefed up and special attention should be paid to the security of Ramzan bazaars, markets and other places.
Shehbaz Sharif said that every concerned individual will have to render his responsibilities in an efficient manner in order to foil the nefarious designs of the anti-state elements. He said that additional police officials should be deployed in sensitive areas. He said that the cabinet committee should review the security arrangements, regularly.
Provincial Ministers Rana Sanaullah Khan, Jehangir Khanzada, chief secretary, additional chief secretary home, acting IG and senior officials also attended the meeting.
