A “City App” has been developed for Islamabad jointly by the Ministry of Information Technology (MoIT), the National Information Technology Board and the Capital Development Authority to empower residents with a locally developed mobile application that will help them explore the city.
The application allows access to users to various government departments, utilities, law enforcement agencies and emergency contact numbers based on their locations.
“The categories of information in Islamabad City App include Metro Bus Stations, Emergency Numbers, complaint handling, crime reporting, hospitals, pharmacy, restaurants, fuel station information and much more,” according to a statement.
The launching ceremony was attended by State Minister for Information Technology Anusha Rehman, who stated, “Such initiatives will lay down a foundation and a step towards establishing ‘Smart Cities’ for a digital Pakistan which is in line with MoIT’s vision.”
The application is only available on Google Play store currently.
The smart city app will be a innovation for the greater future of Islamabad.
