OPC congratulates CM on Sahiwal project

A delegation of overseas Pakistanis living in Europe called on the Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, here today. They congratulated the chief minister on the completion of the 1320 megawatt Sahiwal coal power project in a record period of time.

The delegation, while commending the performance of the Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC), said that the Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has won their hearts by setting up this institution. The members of the delegation said that the development projects completed in the current government’s tenure are being praised all over the world. The chief minister has made Punjab a developed and prosperous province, they added, and that they have practically witnessed Punjab progress under him. They said that the chief minister has set new standards of transparency and quality.

While talking to the delegation, the chief minister said that the Pakistanis living abroad are the true ambassadors of the. He said that the Punjab OPC has been playing an effective role in solving the problems of expatriate Pakistanis; and said that the scope of work of this commission would be further extended so that the problems of overseas Pakistanis could be solved.

The chief minister said that the Punjab OPC has been set up to provide protection to business and properties of overseas Pakistanis in Pakistan.

He said that Pakistan will be rid of crises especially those related to energy. He added that the steps taken for the eradication of terrorism and energy crisis have proved fruitful. Similarly, he said, due to the unity between political and military leadership, great achievements have been secured in the war against terrorism. He said that every project made under Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz government is an example of transparency, honesty and hard work. He said that the role of the expatriate Pakistanis is very important in the development and prosperity of the country.

Provincial Minister Malik Nadeem Kamran, senior PML-N leaders Khawaja Ahmad Hasaan, MPAs Ch Shabbir Ahmad and Rana Liaqat Ali, Commissioner OPCP Afzaal Bhatti, President LCCI Abdul Basit and concerned officials, were also present on the occasion.
