The federal government has allocated Rs 5188.442 million for Ministry of Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) for various projects for the financial year 2017-18.
According to the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), out of the total Rs 5.188 billion, an amount of Rs 2683.469 million has been earmarked for various projects related to education, Rs 1905.151 million for different projects of health, while Rs 599.822 million have been allocated for various schemes relating to physical planning and housing.
In the education related schemes, Rs 2.683 billion have been allocated for nine on-going schemes and three new schemes.
According to details, nine on-going schemes, Rs 1.742 billion have been allocated for renovation/rehabilitation of physical infrastructure of 200 educational institutions under Prime Minister’s Education Sector Reforms Programme in ICT, Rs 534 million have been earmarked for establishment of Federal Model School for Girls, PAF Complex, E-9, Islamabad and Rs 100 million have been allocated for up-gradation of ICT High School.
Similarly, out of three new schemes, Rs 100 million have been earmarked for establishment of smart schools in ICT, which was approved back in March 2016, Rs 50 million for establishment of Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCs) G-13/1, Islamabad and Rs 41 million have been allocated for establishment of Islamabad Model School for Boys, G-15, Islamabad. However, the last two projects are unapproved.
In the health related schemes, Rs 1.905 billion have been allocated for two on-going and 12 new schemes for the year of 2017-18.
According to detail, in the on-going schemes, Rs 100 million have been allocated for establishment of Center for Hematology Disorder at PIMS, while Rs 100 million have been earmarked for establishment of Safe Blood Transfusion Service Project.
Similarly, for the new schemes, Rs 400 million have been allocated for extension of Cardiac Center Extension Block at PIMS, Rs 250 million have been allocated for establishment of Center for Neurosciences at PIMS, Rs 200 million have been earmarked for Cancer Hospital, Islamabad, Rs 198 million have been allocated for up-gradation of Non-Radiation Diagnostic Services at PIMS, Rs 199 million for establishment of unit for shredding, sterilization and disposal of medical waste at PIMS, while Rs 100 million have been allocated for construction of female doctor hostel at PIMS. However, all these projects are still unapproved.
Moreover, in physical planning and housing related schemes, Rs 599 million have been allocated for four on-going schemes and one new scheme.
An amount of Rs 300 million has been allocated for construction of additional family suits for members of parliament including 500 servant quarters at G-5/2, while Rs 200 million have been allocated for construction/up-gradation of mosque at Pak Secretariat, while Rs 50 million have been allocated for boundary wall of residence of Senate chairman.
