KUALA LUMPUR: China is building a new luxury city, with a capacity to accommodate 20,000 more than the current population of Washington, on four man-made islands in Malaysia.
The Chinese company, Country Garden which is building the new city, terms it as “a dream paradise for all mankind.The new city will be called ‘Forest City’. It will cost $100 billion and will be able to accommodate 700,000 people. The construction process was initiated in early 2016.
The Forest City will be completed by 2040 and will have office buildings, parks, a transit network, hotels, restaurants, shops, schools, and 250,000 housing units.
