KOHAT: A terrorist has been reportedly killed in a police encounter on Samari Road, Kohat Thursday morning (today), informed the police.
The police informed that upon receiving a tip-off, an operation was conducted in the area. Thereafter, terrorists present in the area attacked the police team with hand grenades.
In retaliatory fire, one of the terrorists, Inamullah, was killed. A police official was also injured in the crossfire.
Inamullah was alleged of being involved in the attack on a police van on May 20 which claimed the lives of four policemen, including a station house officer. The police team was returning from an operation whey they were ambushed
According to police, Lachi SHO Khanullah had led a police team to Kamal Khel for the arrest of wanted criminals. The police team, in four vehicles, was returning whey they came under attack by terrorists in Mohsin Khel.
Resultantly, Khanullah, Additional SHO Tahir Mahmood and constables Abid and Tanvir Ali were killed on the spot.
