Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engr. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra on Thursday said there is no dearth of talent in Pakistan but there is a need that they energies should be used positively.
Addressing the 10th Inter Provincial Education Minister Conference, he said that all provinces should work together and pay special attention for increasing the literacy rate up to 100 per cent.
The event was attended by Minister of State for Federal Minister Education Baleegh ur Rehman, education ministers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir as well as education experts in large numbers also attended the conference. The Governor hoped that such education conferences would take place in all provinces; ultimately bringing positive uplift in the literacy rate of Pakistan.
Although education departments of the provinces are taking effective steps through concrete mechanism to improve the education system, yet maintaining the tempo of effort is also direly needed, he said.
Earlier, Minister of State briefed the audience about the goals and aims of the conference and said that the federal government is doing its best to promote education, making consensus based reforms and it supports provinces to achieve 100 per cent literacy rate.
