A six-member joint investigation team (JIT) formed to investigate the Panama Papers case on the directions of the Supreme Court has decided to summon Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in person to appear before the investigators at the Federal Judicial Academy, according to sources on Wednesday.

Though it remains a big question mark that whether the prime minister can justify the documented money trail before JIT, which was not accepted by the Supreme Court earlier. The sources said that JIT would summon the prime minister under Section 160 CrPC to appear in person at their place of investigation.

JIT will send a ‘notice’ to the prime minister along with the questionnaire in coming days. Earlier, JIT was considering to send a questionnaire to the PM House and decided to summon Hussain Nawaz, son of the prime minister.
