Civil society protests against disappearance of writer

BADIN: A large number of protesters had staged a protest demonstration against the disappearance of a local writer Ghulam Raza Jarwar. The writer, Ghulam Raza Jarwar was the resident of the village Jani Khan Jarwar Matli town Badin and an employee of the Sindh Health Department, working as a vaccinator.

While addressing the protesters, Abdul Hakeem Jarwar, Lal Jarwar, Hassan Ali Jarwar, Manzoor Ali Jarwar, Mumtaz Jarwar and others, deplored that Ghulam Raza Jarwar was not an active member of any nationalist group. They were also concerned for his life, demanding that he should be produced in the court if he was involved in any ill activities against the state.

Meanwhile, representatives of the civil society, including Aashiq Khawaja, Shafi Dal, Manzoor Arisar, Javid Chang and others, also staged a protest against the lodging of false and fabricated case against Sayed Nawaz Shah Bhadai.

Talking to media, protesters were of the view that the Thatta police have lodged a false FIR of murder against writer Sayed Nawaz Shah Bhadai to make him withdraw from demanding rights for the poor and underprivileged.

They demanded the concerned authorities take notice of the issue.

Stern action should also be ensured against the Thatta police, the said.
