The Punjab government has established 318 Ramzan Bazaars and Agriculture Fair Price Shops throughout the province to facilitate the people at large, during the holy month of Ramzan. Subsidy worth Rs 9 billion has been announced by the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on common edibles. These 318 Ramzan Bazaars will be fully operational from Thursday, 25 May. This was disclosed in a video-link conference held at the Civil Secretariat Lahore under the Chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Shamail Ahmad Khawaja.
Lord Mayor Lahore Colonel (retd). Mubasher Javed and the administrative secretaries of the relevant provincial departments were present on the occasion, while all the deputy commissioners and other senior field officials posted in various districts and tehsils took part in the meeting through a video-link.
Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Shamail Ahmad Khawaja directed all the administrative officers to implement the Ramzan package, announced by the Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in letter and in spirit. The deputy commissioners, Shamail said, should be present in the fruit and vegetable markets on a daily basis
