LAHORE: Fire engulfed a commercial plaza in Barkat Market situated in the Garden Town area of Lahore in the early hours of Tuesday.
Three shops and goods worth millions of rupees were burnt to ashes since the fire engulfed the shops completely.
The fire first broke out in a fast food outlet in a plaza at around 7 am. It later spread to the nearby markets as well. Barkat Market is one of the busiest markets in the city.
Rescue teams were called and at least 10 fire fighting vehicles of Rescue 1122 reached the site. The fire was brought under control after around 10 hours.
Rescue 1122 officials declared the site cleared after cooling process of over an hour.
Reasons behind the fire are still not known.
No casualties were reported in the incident.
