ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee for Defense Chairman Mushahid Hussain has said that re-election of Hassan Rouhani as the Iran’s new president is good news for Pakistan adding that bilateral ties between the two countries are expected to further improve in the future.
Rouhani won a landslide victory winning 23,549,616 votes out of 41,220,131 and was re-elected in the 12th round of Iranian presidential election.
Talking to Tehran Radio, Senator Mushahid Hussain added that strong ties between Tehran and Islamabad are in the interest of both countries and in the interest of the region.
“We in Pakistan welcome the re-election of Rouhani who is a seasoned statesman and a very good friend of Pakistan,” he noted.
The senator added, “Rouhani has visited Pakistan twice in last one year and we would want that under his leadership Pak-Iran relations are further strengthened and all misunderstandings if any are removed because Pak-Iran relations are in the interest of both countries and in the interest of peace, security and stability of the region.”
Very optimistic ! unfortunately there is no good news for Pakistan. Middle East is a battlefield between Sunnis and Shias with the blessing of Americans and Russians. and more Muslim blood is the consequences of this. Islamic Republic of Pakistan in never ever going to be impartial but had to be part of it.
