Police register FIRs over Quaid-i-Azam University clash

Police have filed FIRs against 200 unidentified persons and 25 nominated ones over the Quaid-i-Azam University clash.

Out of the 25 names, 12 are of students belonging to the Mehran Students Council, while 13 others are of those from the Baloch council. The FIR states one of the students belonging to the Mehran council was arrested with weapons in possession.

The FIRs have been lodged by Quaid-i-Azam University Deputy Registrar Humayun Khan at the Secretariat police station.

The nominated persons have been accused of illegally possessing weapons, wreaking havoc at the varsity and on murder attempts.

At least 30 people were injured when two students group broke into a brawl inside the university premises.

Authorities had also called in Rangers to control the situation.

The injured students were shifted to the hospital. A few of them were also said to have been wounded by gunshots.

Police also arrested a few students involved in the clash from the scene.
