Nawaz, Trump shake hands at Saudi summit

US President Donald Trump had a brief encounter with Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Sunday before the Arab Islamic American Summit at the King Abdulaziz Conference Centre here in Riyadh.

The American president shook hands with Prime Minister Nawaz and exchange of pleasantries took place between the two leaders. During the brief meeting, Trump said that he was very pleased to meet Prime Minister of Pakistan to which Nawaz Sharif responded that the feeling was mutual.

King Salman bin Abdul Aziz warmly received Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as he arrived here at the King Abdulaziz Conference Center to participate in the summit being hosted by Saudi Arabia. The summit will provide an opportunity for the participating countries to discuss how to overcome terrorism and extremism across the world.

The summit was expected to delink terrorism from any particular religion, culture, civilization or region. In his address at the summit, Prime Minister Nawaz will focus on Islam’s message of peace, tolerance and unity. He will highlight the great sacrifices and major successes achieved by Pakistan in defeating the scourge of terrorism and extremism in the region.
