WB team, Sindh chief secy discuss investment programmes

KARACHI: A World Bank Group for Trade and Competitiveness Manager for South Asia team, led by Senior Economist Esperanza Lesagabaster, called on Sindh Chief Secretary Rizwan Memon, on Tuesday, at the Sindh Secretariat.

The secretaries of various departments were also present at the occasion.

Welcoming the delegates, the chief secretary noted that concrete measures are being carried out in the province for promotion and development of investment and industrialisation, while awareness to the entrepreneurs is also being uplifted.

Planning and Development Board Chairman Muhammad Waseem informed that under CPEC a special economic zone is being established at Dhabeji, as well one window operation is continued with the availability of all the federal and provincial institution under one umbrella.

Sindh Board of Revenue Member Sindh Zulfiqar Ali Shah briefed the team that 95% land record computerisation has been completed in the province, while more than one lac people have verified land record from in-and outside Pakistan, throughout the world.  He also elucidated about digital scanning and Microfilming.

Sindh Building Control Authority Director General Agha Maqsood Abbas briefed about various aspects of the construction pressing.

Esperanza Lesagabster expressed satisfaction over the investment and industrialisation programmes.
