Power crisis hits Karachi

KARACHI: Power supply in many parts of Karachi was suspended on Tuesday after a technical fault hit the National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) grid near Hub.

In a statement here, Karachi power firm KE said that it was in contact with the NTDC and teams were working for the early restoration of power supply in the city.

It said supply has been affected due to a technical fault at NTDC grid near Hub.

According to sources, Karachi is facing a shortfall of 650 megawatts, resulting in prolonged power outages.

The affected areas by the power breakdown include Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulistan-e-Johar, Khokrapar, Shah Faisal, Model Colony and Malir.
