Polio drive enters second day

HYDERABAD: A three-day long polio eradication campaign which began on Monday in all districts of the province has entered the second consecutive day. The purpose of the campaign is to administer polio vaccine to children of under five-year age.

District Polio Control Room (DPCR) Member Dr Ashfaque Qureshi informed APP here on Tuesday, that besides, administering polio drops, the vaccination teams are also administering vitamin-A drops to children.

Dr Ashfaque Qureshi informed that a total of 882 mobile vaccination teams will carry out the door to door vaccination administering the drops to 32,8542 children and added that the vaccination of children will also be carried out at 110 fixed points and 23 transit points of the district.

He said the medical staff made all-out efforts to make the anti-polio campaign a success, and thousands of children were administered polio drops.

Dr Ashfaque also called upon the media persons to extend their full cooperation to the polio teams and create awareness among the people to save the children from polio.
