Meesha Shafi, our very own rock icon, known for her unusually raspy voice, has been featured in a track released on Mother’s day that was celebrated in Pakistan on May 14.
Misha Shafi is no stranger to show biz; she was behind the most popular campaign of 2016, the only Pakistani female musician to perform live in a multi-city tour, and an advocate for UN Women Pakistan’s #BeatMe campaign.
She is known for singing in unusually high notes, however the singer can handle soft melodies in an equally masterful manner.
The song is a tribute to mothers and features other singers as well. The way with which this song has been delivered is mesmerising, to say the least.
Titled, Shukriya Maa, the song is guaranteed to leave you teary eyed, with all sorts of warm feelings for your mom.
Sharing the song on her Facebook page, Meesha wrote,
“Hai Shukriya Maa. An absolutely BEAUTIFUL tribute to all mothers, who help us weave and nurture our dreams from the very early years of our lives ❤️”
She went on to write, “This was a very emotional experience for all involved, full of misty eyes (mine included) while recording this song. A pleasure collaborating with all the wonderful, young and budding talent featured on this song along with me. LOVED singing with so many of these musicians. Especially enjoyed all the vocal textures woven into the fabric of this song, beautifully created and arranged by the great Xulfi Jabbar, who outdoes himself once again!”
“Please listen and share by clicking below. I’m sure you will want to dedicate our loving effort to the mother in your life ❤️” she concluded.
