IHC to hear petitions of Indian woman Uzma and her husband

Islamabad High Court (IHC) has decided to hear cases of both, Indian woman Dr Uzma and her Pakistani husband Tahir by combining the petitions filed by both of them.

IHC Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the case of Uzma’s husband, Tahir on Monday.

Counsel for the petitioner Fazal Elahi said that Indian woman could be stopped from going to India till the verdict of this case.

The first secretary of Indian high commission Puishin Sindh was also present during the hearing.

The court while issuing notice to Indian high commission against the petition of Tahir, issued orders for combining the two petitions for hearing

The hearing of the case was adjourned till May 22.

It is pertinent to mention here that Dr Uzma had filed a petition in IHC seeking permission to leave for India while her husband Tahir filed petition seeking meeting with her wife and stopping her from leaving Pakistan.
