The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Salah-ud-Din Khan awarded Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officers and personnel with cash prizes and commendation certificates on safe recovery of six kidnapped victims as well as arresting kidnappers involved in these cases, in a ceremony held at Central Police Officer (CPO) Peshawar, on Monday.
According to the details in the first quarter of the current year, Ayaz was kidnapped in the jurisdiction of Faqir Abad police station, Zulfiqar from PS Gulberg, Abdul Wahid from PS Chamkani, Imran from PS Pahari Pura and Abbas from PS Swabi.
The kidnappers were demanding millions of rupees as ransom money for the safe release of victims. The CTD team conducted different raids in the province and recovered all the six abductees safely and arrested majority members of the 3 kidnappers groups involved in these cases.
One kidnapper from Swabi was recovered who was chained with a handcuff. All the arrested kidnappers confessed their crime before the court, while the kidnappers had also identified all the abductors during the court proceeding.
Addressing the ceremony, IGP Khan appreciated the courageous performance and professional commitment of the CTD team by saying that the achievements made by Counter Terrorism Department against terrorists and kidnappers would make a place in the annals of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police history.
He felt proud of the performance of CTD Police, added that public confidence on CTD had increased manifolds due to the continuous success against the terrorists, especially the kidnappers.
The IGP directed the awardees to further pull up their socks against terrorists and kidnappers and foil their nefarious designs well in time.
On this occasion the IGP awarded SPs Falak Niaz Khan, Jouhar Shah, Tariq Habib and Waqar Ahmad, DSP Arshad Khan, Inspectors Farooq Zaman and Muzaffar Khan, Sub Inspector Ali Bahader, ASI Said Malook and Constables Shaheen Shah, Nafees-ud-din, Sher Ali, Nizar Ali, Muheet, Tariq and Amjad with cash prizes and commendation certificates.
Principal Staff Officer to IGP Captain (retd) Mansoor Aman was also present on the occasion.
