JAMSHORO: Devotees from the around country have started gathering in Sehwan to take part in the three- day 765th Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar. The Urs will begin on Monday (today).
Law enforcement agencies have said that all arrangements have been made to make the event as secure as possible in the wake of a suicide attack at the shrine in February this year.
Lal Shahbaz’s annual Urs (death anniversary commemoration) is held at Sehwan on the 18 of Sha’aban – the eighth month of the Muslim lunar calendar. More than half a million devotees from all over the country gather to attend Lal Shahbaz’s annual Urs.
During the event, the pilgrims and devotees sing and indulge in trance-like dance beginning early morning until late at night. Folk singers (mandali) from different regions of the country are also part of the event every year.
