Two security personnel wounded in Quetta explosion

QUETTA: Two security personnel are reported to have been injured in an explosion in Margat area of Quetta Sunday morning, Levies officials have informed.

An improvised explosive device planted on a roadside detonated when the security forces were on their way to Quetta. The injured security forces officials have been shifted to a hospital.

The blast that occurred close to the forces’ vehicle is feared to have targetted the security personnel.

The area has been cordoned off by FC officials and an investigation is under way.

Earlier, Balochistan was targetted on May 12 when a suicide blast in Mastung area of the province killed at least 27 people and injured over 30 others.

On May 10, three people were injured in a landmine blast in Mawand, Kohlu, according to levies sources.

Besides, tension continues to  persist at the border between Balochistan and Afghanistan, in the wake of May 4 attack of Afghan Border Police force on  the Pakistani side.At least 11 civilians were reportedly in the village near the Chaman border.

The  Bab-e-Dosti remains closed on the 10th day, Sunday.
