Beijing: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Sun Weidong Sunday said China was willing to work closely with Pakistan to promote further cooperation.
“China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is playing a pivotal role and has become the flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative,” he said while speaking to APP at China National Convention Centre.
He added that both countries are all-weather strategic partners and are working together for the success of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He termed the Belt and Road Forum a significant opportunity for all the countries along the belt.
“We are glad to see that a large number of countries and international organisations, heads of state and government have come to attend this show,” said Mr Sun.
He welcomed all the countries attending the forum and said that seeing the benefits of the initiative others will join.
Commenting on the inaugural speech of Chinese President Xi Jinping at the forum, he said, President Xi delivered a keynote address and highlighted the win-win cooperation and connectivity along the Belt and Road Initiative.
“This cooperation under Belt and Road Initiative is not only beneficial for China but it is for the regions and the entire world,” he added.
He said that the forum was a historic opportunity for all countries to come together and discuss ways to cooperate for shared a destiny and benefits.
