LAHORE: Punjab Food Authority, in a raid on school canteens has sealed at least six canteens while sending notices to 59.
According to details, the PFA conducted a surprise raid on schools and took action against all those who were found selling unhygienic and substandard food items in their canteens.
Earlier, a notice was sent by Director General PFA, Noor-ul-Ameen Mengal to schools, intimating them to ban fizzy drinks in school canteens after summer holidays. The notice also said that only those items would be sold that come under the PFA approved green zone list.
Canteen owners have also been intimated of the Punjab food safety standards and regulation 2017.
