LoC ceasefire violations: Six civilians injured in Indian firing

ISLAMABAD: Indian troops committed several unprovoked ceasefire violations across the Line of Control (LoC) throughout Saturday, injuring six innocent civilians, including four women.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, three people were injured during Indian firing in Baroh Sector after Nakial Sector.

According to deputy commissioners of Bhimber and Kotli, the wounded persons were shifted to the district headquarters hospitals of respective districts and provided the medical treatment.

The persons who sustained injuries included Muhammad Sharif, Nisar Ahmed, Anila, Muhammad Younas, Rehaha and Ifraz Begum

Earlier, Indian border forces, without any provocation, fired across the LoC in Karela, Kotkoterra, Khuiratta, Sabzkot, Baroh, Tandar and Khanjar sectors.

Three civilians had also died as a result of Indian border forces unprovoked firing at LOC three days before.

AJK PM slams Indian aggression:

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider has condemned firing by the Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC).

Slamming the Indian aggression, the PM said that people of Azad Kashmir can’t be frightened by these types of attacks as people of Pakistan and army were with them, adding that the PM is fully capable of defending the land.

The AJK PM said that after failure in occupied Kashmir, India was using unethical and illegal tactics to pressurise Pakistan to withdraw its moral support to Kashmiris.

He criticised the Indian government for the worst kind of human rights abuses in the occupied valley and called for an immediate cessation to Indian atrocities.

Meanwhile, Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan visited Kiaran Sector of Line of Control on Saturday.

The AJK president who is on a three-day tour to Neelum valley also engaged in public meetings.

AJK Legislative Speaker Shah Ghulam Qadir—who also accompanied the president on the occasion— briefed Masood Khan on the geographical situation of LoC and ceasefire line area near Kairan Sector.

He also informed him about the Indian forces’ violations on ceasefire line, and physical and infrastructural damages caused due to those violations.

The AJK president also met with the tourists who had come from different parts of the country to visit the resorts of Neelum Valley.

The president inquired them about the facilities and questioned about the beauty of Neelum valley and tourists expressed satisfaction over the facilities provided to them by the AJK Tourism Department.

The AJK Assembly speaker arranged a feast in the honour of the president

Masood Khan and different social and political figures of the local area also were also present on the occasion and exchanged their views with the president.
