Pesco takes vital steps to curtail energy crisis

Working under the directives of Chief Executive, Pesco has taken vital step to improve power distribution system throughout the Province.

A Pesco statement stated on Friday that complying with the orders of Chief Executive Pesco Engineer Shabir Ahmad, several new grid stations had been constructed while several other were upgraded.

New Grid Stations of 132 KV Madyan, 132 KV Dobian and 132 KV Gomal University D I Khan had been constructed while 79 power transformers were installed in different grid stations throughout the province.

Around 71 km transmission lines were installed with a cost of Rs988 million to improve power distribution system.

Similarly 1511 MVA capacity was added into the system with a cost of Rs5543 million. In addition to this, dozens of new 11 KV feeders were created and dozens of feeders had been repaired to overcome low voltage problems, over loading and tripping.

Chief Executive Pesco Engineer Shabir Ahmad said that provision of facilities to the customer was their top most priority and with the support of the federal government, several new projects had been initiated to improve power distribution system including replacement of old cables and poles.

CEO directed the concerning officers to keep close check on the ongoing projects so that they could be completed well in time and eliminate load shedding by 2018 according to the federal government’s vision.
