KP government celebrates with KP’s board position holders

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Atif Khan distributed Rs14.76 million in cheques, and gold medals among 41 students who took top positions in matric, F.A and F.Sc examinations.

Addressing the function held at Mardan Board, Atif khan pledged to continue working for the welfare of the people.

He congratulated the students and their parents who took top positions in board exams.

He expected that these students will play a key role in the nation’s growth and stability.

He announced that government will give Rs10 lac, 5 lac and 3 lac prizes to those students whose were studying in government schools and got 1st, 2nd and 3rd position in their board exam respectively.

Chairman Board Shaukat Hayat, District Education Officer Ziauddin, Controller Muhammad Ali, and Principal Col Sher, Cadet College Swabi Col (rtd) Tahir Najeeb Raja also addressed the function.

“The state has a responsibility to provide education to all children,” Khan said. He said it was for the first time in KPK that awards were given to the students of government schools.

He said that recognising the achievements of top students was an appreciable step in its own right.

He said that no one can deny the importance of huge buildings and roads in progress of the nation but real progress could not be possible without quality education that is why education was the mega project of the present government.

He added that a big chunk of the budget has been allocated for this important sector.

The establishing of private school regulatory authority is to analyse performance of the schools from all aspects, he added.

Chairman Board Shaukat Hayat gave briefing to the minister about reforms in Mardan board. He said that Mardan board is committed to conduct transparent examination. He also briefed minister about the newly installed information system.
