Gory enmity resurfaces in the Walled City

Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP), Capt. (R) Usman Khatak has said that photographs, fingerprints and all relevant particulars of criminals should be updated in Criminal Record Management System (CRMS) regularly. Record of accused persons, he said, who get arrested in cases registered in any police station across Punjab, should immediately be uploaded into the system. IGP directed the concerned authorities to establish CRMS offices at the circle level instead of the district level. He asked the relevant individuals to prepare a comprehensive plan for this purpose and to send it to the government for approval, without any delay.

While addressing Additional IGP Discipline and Inspection, IGP said that monthly inspection of Criminal Record Management System and Human Resource Management System should be ensured along with the inspection of DPO offices and police stations all over the province. This will ensure that all postings and transfers are done through HRMS and that the photographs, fingerprints and all other relevant particulars of the accused are uploaded, on time, into the CRMS.

IGP stated this while presiding over a meeting held at Lahore Central Police Office today to review the performance of information technology projects of Punjab Police.

Additional IGP Operations Punjab, Mohsin Hassan Butt, IGP Welfare and Finance, Shoaib Dastgir, DIG Operations Punjab, Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, DIG IT, Humayun Bashir Tarar, DIG Welfare, Waseem Siyal, DIG Shahid Hanif, AIG Monitoring, Rai Babar, AIG Operations, Akhtar Abbas, AIG Training, Athar Waheed, AIG Finance, Ghazi Salahuddin and other officers were also present at the meeting.

IGP urged the attendees of the meeting to ensure that Guzara Allowance is provided to the widows of martyred police officers. It should also be ensured that Guzara Allowance ATM card holding widows of police officers do not face any technical problems from banks.

IGP directed DIG Welfare to receive feedback from Guzara Allowance beneficiary widows, of police officers, on a regular basis to provide them with a flawless service.

While directing DIG IT, IGP said that police record should be computerised and photographs, fingerprints and all other relevant particulars of criminal persons should be updated in the Criminal Record Management System.
