Panama case: JIT holds third meeting in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to probe the Panama case, commenced its third meeting at Judicial Academy on Wednesday. 

In yesterday’s meeting, the JIT decided that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would be directly questioned over the affidavit of Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

The committee, headed by FIA additional Director General Wajid Zia, reviewed Ishaq Dar’s statement in connection with Hudaibia Paper Mills and will issue notices to Prime Minister and children after proper scrutiny.

The committee is due to submit its first report on May 21 to the Supreme Court of Pakistan, according to reports.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Director Irfan Mangi could not attend the JIT’s second meeting held today as he is abroad. He is expected to arrive back today.
