LAHORE: Eminent Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leaders Ch Bashir Ahmad and Ch Basharat on Wednesday quit the party and joined the Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q).
They announced their inclusion in the party during their meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-Q senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi and Ch Wajahat Hussain at their residence.
N-League Gujrat’s Union Council’s candidate for the office of Chairman Ch Bashir Ahmad and for Office of Vice-Chairman Ch Basharat joined PML along with Ch Mushtaq, Ch Ashraf Mithu, Ch Nazir Mithu, Ch Asghar, Ch Safdar Baloch, Ch Mohammad Ashraf, Ch Mohammad Asghar, Ch Mohammad Ilyas ad Ch Jabbar among several others.
On the occasion, former MPA Abdullah Yousuf, Ch Mohammad Inayat, Ch Mohammad Akram, Ch Shakeel, Ch Aftab Sarwar were also present.
Welcoming them to the party fold Ch Parvez Elahi said that N-League’s “backbone” joining PML is a welcome development, this will have a deep impact on local politics and the party will be further strengthened in Gujrat.
Ch Bashir Ahmad said that “we have decided today to end 50 years long affiliation with N-League and joined Ch Shujat Hussain, Ch Parvez Elahi and Ch Wajahat Hussain because they are real protectors of honour and prestige of Gujrat and this family has really and practically served the people of Gujrat.”
