Provincial Minister for Schools Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that a decision has been made to establish Punjab Testing Service under the Schools Education Department (SED). The purpose of establishing this forum is to recruit and hire the best staff for the Schools Education Department.
He said this while presiding over a high-level meeting in the committee room of Schools Education Department here today.
The minister stressed on the need for focusing on the teachers training programs to achieve sustainable development goals in the education sector. He said that SED is endeavouring to make effective strategies to provide quality education to the students. He urged the responsible individuals to take concrete steps for establishing the Punjab Testing Service so that quality facilities could be provided to the students for achieving policy goals.
Program Director Directorate of Staff Development Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik, Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Ali Jan Khan, MD Punjab Education Foundation Tariq Mahmood, Special Secretary Schools Education Rana Hassan Akhtar and other officials of the concerned departments also attended the meeting. The progress of Punjab Education Standard Development Authority and the work required for the construction of 36000 additional classrooms in public sector schools by 2018 were also discussed during the meeting.
Rana Mashhood also presided over another meeting here where he said that Danish School System is a revolutionary step taken by Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif through which great minds from deserving families are getting a quality education. During the meeting, Program Director Directorate of Staff Development Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik briefed the minister regarding various projects. He also informed the minister about the importance of the traditional programs, including Baz-e-Adab for schools. Similarly, he suggested that the government must start granting the title of “Star Teacher” to the best teachers of the school to appreciate them.
